You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!

Things to keep in mind on deviantART
Okay, this is my attempt at clarifying (maybe?) or at least trying to reiterate some basic things about deviantART. One, deviantART is an ART website, that means you should post/submit/upload things that YOU create! This is a place to show off you and your art work/creativity.
That said, what I'm trying to get to is the fact that deviant users will often times upload things they did not create. This happens on various levels, and for various reasons, all of which cannot be listed because obviously I don't know everything, but this is what I'm going on. I see a lot of images that do not belong to the user who uploaded them, which is slightly upsetting. I have seen lots of anime pictures, some slightly altered, some not altered at all (and some even with the original artist's watermark still present), along with many gaia avatars, most likely made with tektek.org's dream avatar feature, and about a MILLION screenshots from doll makers that can be found here on deviantART or on popular websites such as bonniegames.com and DollDivine. This wouldn't be so bad if they were in the proper category, which is your SCRAPS. But they rarely are.
Let's clarify some things. deviantART is an art website for users to submit original works. deviantART is not an image hosting sight. If you want to get technical, it could be, but it is not like ImageShack or PhotoBucket, don't just upload whatever you please unless you created it. If you upload any image that is not yours it is considered art theft. Unfortunately, because of the abundance of these images, it is not well regulated and easy to get away with. That doesn't mean you should do it. The only time you should be using or uploading images that you did not create is if you have permission from the original artist, such as stock for an example. There are exceptions to everything. I'm not going to go hunt down everyone on deviantART I think is guilty of any of these things, and I don't expect or think anyone else should either. But if I see something, I feel I should politely say something to the user.
I am not trying to make anyone mad. Please don't shoot me.
Now let's find some solutions! It's alright to upload gaia avatars, eLouai dolls, screenshots from dollmakers and all of that stuff IF and only IF you give credit to the original creator(s) or artist(s) and place it in your scraps. -Note: In case you were unaware, placing an item in your scraps means choosing the "scrapbook" option when selecting a category when you are uploading a deviation. Simply don't post these things, stick to uploading your own artwork. Understand that it doesn't mean anything if people like you or give you attention for things that aren't yours. You're really not getting anything from that (just like fake pageviews). Read the deviantART rules, and if you have any questions, ask your fellow deviantART users! There are plenty of administrators and friendly (and experienced) users here on dA who would be more than happy to answer your questions.
If you have any questions feel free to note me! Again, I hope I didn't upset anyone with this. If I said something that bothers you, please let me know without raging all over me.
I hope this helps, or gets the message across, I really want to see deviantART being what it's supposed to be.
